Why premium preschool dance programs grow faster

One of the biggest shifts studio owners make when their preschool program starts growing is this: they stop selling it as a dance class. Instead, they position their program as a premium experience.

When preschool dance classes feel casual or improvised, parents often treat them that way too. They see them as something optional, even temporary. But when your preschool dance classes appears intentional, structured, and thoughtfully designed, parents perceive them differently.

They see them as:

• A meaningful and even necessary step in their child’s development
• A place where learning is happening
• A program worth staying enrolled in for their child’s growth

That perception alone can change how families talk about your studio, how long they stay, and how willing they are to pay for the experience you’re offering.

But where does “positioning” come from?

I’m glad you asked! It comes from many the “little things” I mention in our Studio Enrollment Boost Guide and go into more detail in our implementation training for studio owners in our Little Dancer Program. When your studio space and children’s programming feels more like Disneyland and less like the traveling carnival, you know you’ve got this part down.

Premium positioning also comes from consistent classes across teachers and throughout the year, a clear progression both throughout the year and from one year to the next, and a program that feels professionally designed from the inside out. You’ll find that in our teacher training and done-for-you lesson plans in the Little Dancer Program.

In fact, these are some of the biggest reason why studio owners use the Little Dancer Program. It helps their preschool classes feel structured, their teachers teach with intentionality, and their space feel worth of premium positioning.

All of this adds up in a few ways.

First, you can charge premium pricing. That means more revenue from the same number of students. This could allow you to hire better teachers or invest in things like props and your studio space. Maybe you’re currently the cleaning staff at your own studio and would like to be able to hire someone to clean it professionally. Perhaps you’re hoping to make a bigger purchase for your studio like new marley or ballet barres. Being able to charge a premium price can help you reach these goals faster.

Second, your preschool and other early childhood dance classes will fill faster. I know. It seems counter intuitive, but it’s true. The premium children’s dance classes are the ones that are actually more highly sought after.

We’ve got lots more on premium positioning and how to know exactly what premium pricing is at your studio (it will vary from one location to the next) inside the Little Dancer Program.

Up soon, I’ve got a topic every studio owner wishes they had: peace of mind.

Have an amazing week!
