3 things your preschool dance teachers should do in every class

Most studio owners think preschool dance enrollment aligns directly with their marketing efforts. But in reality, that's actually not the case. Retention and referrals are decided inside the classroom, not on social media. It's not the cute photos and videos you post on your feed or even the ads you pay for so you can get in front of your potential customers.

Don't get me wrong. Those things can help your studio with enrollment. But it's what happens inside your dance classrooms that make all the difference when it comes to both retention and enrollment.

So today, I have three simple (and free!) things your preschool dance teachers should be doing every single class that will actually help with studio growth:

1. Start class on time, every time.
Parents read this as professionalism. If classes start late or run late, parents will assume the program is disorganized.

2. Speak directly to the child, not just the group.
Preschoolers feel successful when teachers notice them individually. Parents notice this too. Last week's tip is a perfect example of this.

3. End class with a clear goodbye routine.
A predictable goodbye, sticker, or ritual reassures both the child and parent that learning happened.

The truth of the matter is, most teachers were never trained in these habits. They’re great dancers, but no one showed them how to run preschool dance classes in a truly professional way. That’s exactly why I built the Little Dancer Program. It gives teachers practical training like this so you don’t have to manage every detail yourself, as the studio owner.

And if you're wondering how these three practices relate to studio growth, they are the hallmarks of a premium preschool and children's dance program. More on that to come very soon.

By the way, you're doing amazing. Keep it up!
